Entry Requirements:
You need to have completed VCE (or equivalent) or be of mature age and have sufficient work experience.

You also need to have a high level of literacy and numeracy skills following completion of an LLN assessment - Australian Core Skills Framework Level 4.

It is desirable to hold a Certificate III in Horticulture (AHC30716).
Course Overview:
This course is suitable if you currently work in the Horticulture industry at a level requiring higher technical skills. This course reflects the roles of those who manage amenity horticultural enterprises where a range of knowledge and skills are required.

At Kangan Institute we provide students with the opportunity to experience a simulated work place in our own horticulture learning facility. Our teachers have a broad range of industry skills and knowledge that they bring to the classroom environment ensuring that students have relevant and current understanding of industry practices.

Elective units:
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed throughout the course, assessments may include written, oral or practical assessments. These assessments are designed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required in order to achieve this qualification. Your teacher will provide you information on how you will be assessed for each unit.

There is the opportunity for re-assessment and appeal, which you can discuss with your teacher.

Fees:
As part of the scholarship program fees will be covered, however the amount/s may vary depending on the criteria set out in the terms and conditions. If you were enrolling in this course outside of the scholarship program the fees are indicative below and will vary depending on the units you select and your eligibility.

Your total course fee will typically include your tuition fee (table 1), any applicable consumables and/or material fees (table 2) and non-tuition fees such as student support fees (table 3).
What employment opportunities will I have?
This course may lead to employment as a Horticulture Manager.

What qualifications will I receive?
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Nationally Accredited Diploma of Horticulture (AHC50416). As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.
