The virtual event, which will take place on October 21, will feature 10 different webinars as well as virtual campus tours.

Bendigo TAFE's chief learning officer Janelle Arena said there had already been a lot of interest in the day.

"Like other businesses, TAFE has had to adapt to reflect the COVID conditions," Ms Arena said. "This is the first time we have had a virtual open day.

"It's a great way for prospective students to decide where to study. It will provide staff with a safe environment to do the open day while we continue to follow the chief health officer's orders."

Ms Arena said webinars would cover a range of issues, including understanding what an apprenticeship in nursing was like, more information on a career in animal studies, and reasons to consider studying TAFE as a pathway to university.

"Prospective students will be able to, from the comfort of their homes, line up webinars from teachers and students," she said.

"They will also be able to discover the campus through a virtual tour. There will also be the opportunity to view the new campus that is currently being built.

"Prospective students will also be able to fill their virtual show bags with course guides and information."

Ms Arena said 2020 had been a challenging year for everyone, including those in the education sector.

"Our teachers and leaders and support service staff have done an incredible job pivoting to an online curriculum," she said.

"Equally, our students have demonstrated incredible resilience at this time. The digital learning experience has been really positive for many students.

"We've also continued to be able to do a range of initiatives through practical delivery by being incredibly creative.

"We have also continued with on-campus delivery for permitted classes."

Ms Arena said Bendigo TAFE would continue to return students to classrooms when the Victorian government and health authorities deemed it was safe to do so.

"We would like to offer more classes throughout the summer," she said. "But we have to wait for that guidance and direction.

"There will be lots of planning to get ready to go with that green light."
